So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

You see that word?

Flee?

Yeah, that’s not implied.

FLEE MEANS FLEE.

Flee doesn’t mean close your eyes, move over to the side, or even go to a different room.

FLEE MEANS GET OUT OF THERE!!! RUN! DON’T WALK! FLEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

AND DON’T LOOK BACK!!! DON’T GIVE SIN A CHANCE TO DRAG YOU BACK IN!

Make sin lose it’s breath trying to catch up with you!

Look at Lot and his family in Genesis 19. Surrounded by the sin and filth of Sodom and Gomorrah, the angels, in verse 16 use that same word a couple of times to urge Lot and his family to get out of town before the Lord destroyed it utterly! In escaping, Lot’s wife makes the huge mistake of looking back at the destruction of the cities, and becomes a product of that destruction. DON’T LOOK BACK!!!

Or look at Joseph in Genesis 39! Potiphar’s wife wanted a piece of that! And when she tried to grab him, the Bible says Joseph ran away from her so fast, he left his clothes in homegirl’s hand! GET OUTTATHERE!
